Big Brothers Big Sisters of West Kentucky serves children in Christian, Calloway and Trigg Counties. Christian County alone has over 100 children on their waiting list between the ages of 5 – 18 that are in need of an adult role model in the form of a Mentor. National Statistics show that a child who is mentored is 46% less likely to start using drugs, 52% less likely to skip school, and the positive relationship between a youth and their Big Brother or Big Sister has a direct, measurable, and lasting impact on their life.
Matching comes together through two essential programs: Community Based Mentoring and School-Based Mentoring. It’s all about sharing in fun activities together and being a friend by giving as little as one hour per week of your time to help a child reach their potential. Together we really can “Make a Difference”!
